چکیده
Background: Basilar artery stenting is a rescue therapy in the management of hyperacute stroke Published data on efficacy and safety are limited. Methods: A systematic review published studies was performed accordance with PRISMA guidelines. Inclusion criteria were adult patients ischemic permanent basilar stent placement within 48 hours onset. Data extracted by two independent reviewers. Additional cases from our institution identified via local registry. Results: Of 212 screened articles, patient-level reported 35 (93 individuals) six additional included Patients (n=99, 63% male; median age 64) most often presented mid-basilar occlusion (52%) 76% received treatment 12 Favorable angiographic results occurred 67%. The final modified Rankin Scale score (mRS) 0-3 for 56% patients; mortality 29%. Those complete flow post-procedure more likely to have mRS (p=0.05). Conclusions: In 99 stroke, favourable functional outcomes 67% patients, respectively. International multicenter registries required establish benefit identify patient technical factors that predict favorable outcomes.

Dolichoectatic basilar artery: a review of 23 cases.
The dolichoectatic basilar artery was found in 23 cases during a 10-year period. The 19 males and 4 females ranged in age from 30 to 69 years (mean: 55 years). Hypertension was noted in 17 patients. In seventeen (74%) of the present cases this anomaly could be visualized with CT scan. Seven patients (30%) presented with pontine infarction, which was identified on CT scan in all cases. Vertebro-...
متن کاملElective stenting of symptomatic basilar artery stenosis.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Percutaneous angioplasty of the intracranial arteries still carries the risk of dissection, with acute closure and embolization. Stenting has been shown to improve the safety and durability of angioplasty in every circulatory bed in which it has been applied. However, stenting of the intracranial arteries has been limited by the availability of stents that can be reliably...
متن کاملA meta-synthesis study of literature review and systematic review published in nurse prescribing
Background :Prescribing represents a new aspect of practice for nurses. To make qualitative results more accessible to clinicians, researchers, and policy makers, individuals are urged to synthesize findings from related studies. Therefore this study aimed to aggregate and interpret existing literature review and systematic studies to obtain new insights on nurse prescription. Methods : Thi...
متن کاملangioplasty and stenting of basilar artery with short-term results
abstract symptomatic basilar artery stenosis has a poor prognosis. surgical bypasses are technically demanding and of no proven benefit. a new generation of intravascular stents that are flexible enough to navigate the tortuosities of the vertebral artery may provide a new therapeutic approach. our two cases, 57 and 52 year-old men experienced a vertebrobasilar ischemia with repeated vertigo an...
متن کاملHemodynamic changes in the basilar artery following stenting.
A 75-year-old man had a 2-week history of recurrent, in crescendo episodes of diplopia, dizziness, dysarthria, and right-sided hemiparesis. Transcranial color-coded sonography (TCCS) showed a severe proximal basilar artery (BA) stenosis with an enddiastolic flow velocity of 142 cm/sec (figure, A, arrow) confirmed by angiography. BA angioplasty and stent application was performed in view of pers...
